LMAO~

I just had those binaural beats on, and my bearded dragon started looking around really confused.

The dog didn't seem phased though, lazy git.

I turned them off about 5 minutes ago, and he's still walking around looking dazed. New DIC experiment:
Anyone with pets, play some binaural beats to them. See how they react.

You play pitches that are painfully close together, and you get what are called beats. In addition to the two pitches you play, there's a vibrato like modulation that occurs. It basically sounds like a wawa effect.

The musical term for this kinda thing is called dissonance.

It creates a pulsation that is annoying to most, and the frequencies let's say...don't agree with each other.

And anyone that does that do an animal should be shot. That's just cruel. mad.gif

No, dissonance is actually a very good thing for music. It's what makes music so wonderful to listen to. Dissonance creates a tension, energy, excitement, etc that usually arrives at a musical closure, or cadence/resolution, signified by consonance.

Dissonance is amazing.

Well yes, but only when it's used correctly.

Joke?

For the record, I didn't actually turn them on for him, I had a headache and they get rid of it. He just started getting confused so I turned them off.

"Used correctly" has got to the most subjective aspect of art. There was a time when the tritone was considered so dissonant that it earned the nickname "Devil's Interval" and was banned from the church.

@gabe: Aren't bearded dragons venomous?
