Any body help me pls

i write code on file type
it gives error i.e:

PHP Warning: filetype() [function.filetype]: Lstat failed for /jaya/try in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\path.php on line 4

$dh = filetype($file);
print_r($dh);
?>

code is correct, I would check the permission of the file and also make sure it's within your servers include path.
