Currently my company uses the basic Setup Project offered by Visual Studio to create .msi installers for each of our applications. It has been sufficient to this point, but now I want to create one generic installer for our entire software suite. I want users to be able to check off any of our applications, have the installer conditionally create a shortcut for each, and "remember" which programs are installed whenever a newer version of the installer is executed (so they don't have to recheck each one).

I just started looking into it today, but Nullsoft Scriptable Install System looks plenty powerful enough to do what I need.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Nullsoft Scriptable Install System seems to be very neat in work. So I suggest to go with that.
