Dear All,

would you please tell me in brief that
" What are the applications of Assembly Language where any high level language becomes insufficient".

Kind regard

most assembly language is faster because it does not have to be refrenced so all programs written in assembly
would most likely be faster, because the dont have to refrence a .DLL although C/C++is fast... assembly language could be used to make a program faster... by using more registers for your calculations,...
because they only use AX, and BX , if you used AX, BX, CX, DX, SI all the top 8 then your calculation would be 6 times faster! ph34r.gif

This sounds like a home work question.

Really? I think the quotes give it away. tongue.gif

faisaly, please at least respect us enough to actually ask the question. We'd be happy to answer, but the fact that you're too lazy to put it into your own words suggests that you're just going to copy-and-paste the best answer. mad.gif

To answer your question correctly, a higher level language would be inefficient in OS development. For example, the entry point of your kernel in OS dev must be coded in ASM because you must work with the registers (disabling interrupts and etc).

Rarely is any 32-bit assembly used in modern time.

heh, why does everybody say that?
Go into Security Development and Learning Pure Assembler is a MUST then.. =)

Pure Application Development in Assembler is indeed quite Rare today.
Only the Weird Twisted People do that. (*rolling eyes*, I code in ASM a lot wink2.gif )

But since its so 'Rare' its hard to get Certified in Assembler coding..
And that is quite annoying..

Cheers,
Robin
