I just purchased my first Blackberry yesterday. Its the 8830, I got a great deal on it.

Up until now I've been using Windows Mobile based phones with my current one being the Motorola Q. While I like the Q it got somewhat boring and it's clunky... and sluggish.

I should have the new Blackberry on Friday and I'm getting an unlimited data plan for it once I get it, so what are some must have apps? What things should I get set up right away to make my life easier?

I just bought the Curve last week, there are tons of things you can do with the phone.

I would check out http://www.blackberryforums.com/

There is a lot of good information on there.

I still haven't figured everything out, blackberry.com has a lot of good information too, they have videos on how to use your phone.

Compared to most of the recent phones, I would have to agree.

I had a razor a while ago, I had the same issues with it, very slow and just over all blew ass.

My dad has the same phone you do, and he says the same thing. He hates it.

Blackberry's are cool, but I just got to play around with a BlackJack II and it rocks. I was able to tether it to my laptop and use it as a modem. Man, this thing is awesome.

The phone I have now is essentially the BlackJack in a Motorola shell. Same Windows Mobile OS, same features. Windows Mobile just isn't designed for heavy email and messaging.

I'll be putting my Sprint Motorola Q on eBay soon if anyone is interested.
