OK - We have a website. Some of the directories are protected via IIS UNnam/PWord.

We can't use CF's builtin security because the page content is dynamic depending on access levels (menu options, read/write/edit/delete priv. etc.)

The directories need to be protected so access is restricted from the casual surfer, nasties, and bots.

Let's say we have a Uname of: letmein and a PW of: please

Can I have CF access the URL and enter the PW and Name? I know it can't be passed on as part of the HTTP request, and I've tried a few other things, but can't figure it out...

Thanks in advance....

Rick Drew

To do this, you must configure IIS to check the file permissions before passing control of the request to ColdFusion.

Here is a tech note on setting this up
