Free? Check out KraMixer - http://www.kramware.com/

I've played around with this software and it has an amazing array of features and it works really well as a 'virtual' turntable of sorts.

Be warned that the software has a couple pieces of adware that they claim is solely to support the development, but it appears to be easily removed with defender, adaware, whatever.. use it at your own risk.

Otherwise one of the market leaders right now is PCDJ - http://pcdj.com/
The high end versions don't run cheap but it looks like you can find the beginner's edition 'PCDJ Blue' on Amazon for 15 bucks.

By the way, this topic has nothing to do with blogging.... at all. Allow me to move this to Audio & Video.

it's not free, but I use ableton live to dj
maybe it's possibe to do it with a lite version as well that comes free with soundcards (and sometimes they give it away for free with remix competitions)
