Once again, it's time for Spring.this('05'), however, this year we are doing things a little different. In the past this has been a graphics competition, this time, it's a code competition.

The Competition
Users will submit unique and creative code snippets to the dream.in.code snippets area (http://code.dreamincode.net). Snippets must be 100% yours, you may not re-use someone elses code, we will check every snippet.

Snippets should be copy & paste ready, meaning, they should run with little or no modification in an application. They should accomplish a unique task, this is usually done using a function.

If snippets don't meet our guidelines or quality standards, we will delete the snippet and remove any kudos you earned for that snippet. Don't submit crap!!! Quality over quantity people

You must be registered in order to submit snippets, you won't see the "Add Code To..." link if you aren't.

The Deadline
All snippets must be submitted by 11:59PM MST on May 15th, 2005.

The Prize
As of right now, the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com



The Judges
At the end of the contest, administrators and team members will select 5 of the best snippets. You, as members, will then vote on the best snippet based on creativeness, usefullness, quality of code, etc. etc.

The Catch
Not really a catch, but it has been an issue in the past, you are submitting content to dream.in.code, while you maintain the rights to the code, we maintain the rights to display your code, advertise your code, brag about your code, use your code, etc. etc. You will always get credit for your code though

Tight! already started..

Can we use something already submitted? Case in point my PHPWinamp. Though I'd definitely have to modify/update it for the contest.

Cool competition! Lemme take a crak at it; two questions though:



1. Can/will multiple snippets selected be from one author?



2. Can we? Already 35+ under my belt

I'll go ahead and say we will accept all snippets submitted on or after April 1st 2005. Sorry, anything before that is really just searching thru the entire database and kind of nullifies the entire point of a contest which is to build content and reward the great members who help us do that.

Sounds like a plan!!
