IE invalid character error

When downloading the source from http://www.glitterparaorkut.com/ and saving it as an htm/html file, then opening it with IE7, I keep getting an Invalid character error on Line: 2 Char: 1, the rest of the page functionality works fine, but why am I getting this error?

btw the formatting will be off without the css files, but I am just concerned about the error. attached is the source file. Attached File  www.glitterparaorkut_1_.htm ( 19.55k ) Number of downloads: 9

Wow, you have a ton of errors in your CSS and javascript. Just checked the XHTML but, yeah looks like you have to fix a few things (275 to be exact) here: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&am...araorkut.com%2F also you should use their css tool to validate your stylesheets.

loading the actual url in ie produces no errors, i'm just wondering why when loading the source it shows that error. i don't really care to fix all the problems, i'm just helping someone edit the page. it works in firefox without errors.
