This is not a homework question. I'm done with that class. At this point I'm trying to "embrace and extend" my VB knowledge. I would like to build an app that will allow a domain admin to control services. Namely the W2k3 NIS server. and a few others. Are there build in classes, etc that allow for start, stop, restarting of services? Just looking for some pointers. I would like the app to have a green, red symbol to alert the admin (me) that a service has died or quit. Thanks.

You could use the Windows API or the registry to start and stop services.
Microsoft even provides an ActiveX Control for simplifying the task.

I've attached a ZIP File which contains the control (.ocx file) and its documentation.

Enjoy!
