You probably think I don't have a clue etc etc...

but when making a game of any sort, is it better to have all the databases sorted before started to code all the pages?

Well generally you want to have your database all planned out and their relationships established before coding the pages. This is because the database will determine the types of queries you use and how they will be structured as you code the pages. You are going to discover more fields and such as you develop the game and so your database will be constantly updated as you progress but get as much of the fields/tables identified before you start the coding and you will be in good shape.

Hopefully you have written out all the game requirements and how the game will work in the most detail as you can even before starting the database. The documents you create will tell you the types of tables you will need and how those tables will relate to one another. Never go into database design without a plan.

Just some advice. Good luck with the game. smile.gif

Well I did do a list to a degree, than a friend of mine who is helping me with the game told me of some other stuff so will probably have to go back to the drawing boards and make sure everything we need is there and then possibly re-do the database to make sure we have everything we need so far before we start...Thank you, Will let you know how its going smile.gif
