Hi, I'm a rare user to Dream in code but I recently got a job for a few weeks working at an ICT department in a School (I'm 16 and so got the job via my parents because I'm OK in C++). However they have set me on a task of creating an entire house point system for them, and nobody in the IT dep can help me because they don't fully understand it themselves blink.gif but basically what I need to make is a Database using Microsoft Access 2003 (with only VB 6.0 as code editing), where it can be used all over the network by a few people at the same time (unlike a spreadsheet which can only be used by one person :S) and it needs to be able to have a simple UI where a teacher can select their class, which then takes them to another UI where they see the students names and forms and so is able to enter the House points for each student. I also need it so the students can move forms easily which is apparently something that happens a lot in this school and all the points need to move over to another form! Not only this but the school wants to be able to check which teachers have not updated it for that week and see which form's these are, as well as wanting to produce graphs and add points to the entire class/ house not just the students. There are 5 years and 7 houses. Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated!!!! Many thanks, Boshman icon_up.gif

Your reply to the person that hired you should be simply this:
"Sorry, i am not qualified for such a big project. You should hire a professional."

First lesson for a programmer: know what projects to refuse.

Trog is right, You need to tell them that the task they have set forth for you is something you are unable to do. Here are a few reasons:

you know a little c++, they want you to use Access 2003 and VB 6.0 which you have implied you have no knowledge of. I know from personal experience that you can get overwhelmed quickly if you don't. The project i was hired for where i work was originally supposed to be a vb.net project but ended up turning into a C# project. I have been stressed out for 3 months now trying to learn C# and get this project done.

I usually don't troll, but this is certainly not the place to ask people to do your WORK for you, especially when not a single line of code as been written.

I'm sure if you shared (most of) your wages, people here would be happy to chip in.
