I was planning on using this as a portfolio website. I had it already sliced in Photoshop and coded in Dreamweaver including CSS but then, in a dream, I got a more sleeker, detailed flash layout that I cba to design atm. Anyways, enough babbling, here it is.

So, just because I am curious and not much of a graphics guy, how does that lay out in your website? Is that your background and you drop your text on it? Do you cut out the menu buttons, create roll overs from them, and slap those on your background through some div and css magic? I am trying to figure out where the next step is before you go "tada!" and have a website...

Well first, I designed the entire thing as a whole in Photoshop. Then I sliced it. Then, File>Save for Web and Devices. Get the images and HTML and import it all into Dreamweaver. Then I do all the CSS and other nonsense.

Okay.. so after you determin what goes where, you slice it up and make a giant background image?

No, not exactly. It's not so much a background as a "border" you might say. With CSS, it is basically just an image, not a background, just an image, with text, links, other images, etc on top of it. It's kind of hard to explain. I'm sure if you start learning more about web design it'll come to you easier than I can explain it.

Yh well I've been using Photoshop for going on about 6 years now. If you're interested in web development, then I would download a demo of Photoshop CS3 from Adobe.com and look up some tutorials on web design. (Tutorials are back online tomorrow.) Oh and omoimasuyo, your sig would look hella tight if you sharpened Naruto's face a little. Just enough to barely make it the center of attention instead of that C4D. Mainly around the eyes, nose, and cheeks need sharpening, but just a little.

I get what you are saying now.. I picked apart CSS while I was waiting for my book to arrive.. each 'ID' area can have a background image, which would be what you sliced apart... each ID has a slice background image, and you move around the content areas so they line up like how it is in the photoshop..

gotcha.

thanks.
