I am working on a VB6 program which needs to use a web form to retrieve some data.

The Application needs a button that launches a popup

The popup helps the user find an address ()vb.net c# code)

The user clicks done on the form

The Form closes and fills out textboxes in the VB6 application

The VB6 app works, the popup window code works I just need help comunicating between the two. The popup window is VB.net with c# code.

Thanks biggrin.gif

You mean ASP.NET with C# code?

Anyway, there is a Microsoft KB article on it:

How To Pass String Data Between Applications Using SendMessage

And a MSDN Forums thread to appy C# to the situation:

Passing string data to vb6.0 desktop application

Yes ASP.net with c# code

So the C# code needs to send a string from within the browser to the desktop application

Essentially, yes, that's it.

Even though the forum is about a c# desktop application, thanks to the .NET framework, there probably really isn't much difference between that and an ASP.NET application, as far as passing strings goes.

Scrapped this idea. Instead re wrote the c# code in vb.net and created a DLL which could be accessed from VB6.
