hello friends! Wattbot is the brainchild startup of a friend of mine - read on for this job description...

Wattbot is looking for Ruby on Rails contractors

Who is Wattbot?
Wattbot is a San Francisco-based angel-funded web startup in the residential clean energy space.

What is Wattbot?
Wattbot is a free web-based energy expert that simplifies the design, financing and purchase of clean energy solutions automatically. For anyone thinking about energy efficiency and clean energy, Wattbot is the best way to find advice on which products and services make sense for their individual needs. Using the world's largest database of energy-related information, Wattbot's mission is to significantly reduce the time, money and knowledge required to implement clean energy solutions.

What we're looking for:
We're looking for a couple of experienced Ruby on Rails wizards, or wizards-in-training, to join our small team and help us get our site built. We are a virtual company with a world-wide distributed team, so these jobs are on a contract basis, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 50 hours per week, and it doesn't matter where you're physically located. If it's a good match, then we ideally would like to engage in a long-term, multi-year relationship, but we'll start in 3-6 month increments initially. Rates are commensurate with experience.

We're interested not just in RoR experience, but in folks who believe the best designs are the simplest ones (but no simpler), who thrive in an iterative development environment (i.e. if it doesn't work, we change it until it does), and who have a slightly off-key sense of humor (C-minor diminished 7th preferred, but we are open to other keys as well). If this is you, send your resume to jobs@wattbot.com right this second!
