Well I am creating myself a new site, mostly for blogging. I was wondering if I could get some input on how I have this set up and more.

Thanks smile.gif

the text on the right is being overlapped (using firefox on 1280x1024)

the header at the top is a little to much for me*note this might just be a me thing* it actually makes my eyes hurt a little.

your links seem to either not be there or be broker(or is it tabbed?) i cant really tell lol.

Other than that it looks good, i like the black/purple color scheme and the layout is appealing.

Very nice design, the header graphic is really good too, it doesn't bother me any.

I don't notice the right text being overlapped (FF3 RC1)
All the links point to either [http://rlmccutchen.com/index.html] or [http://rlmccutchen.com/index.html#], I'm assuming that you just didn't get to that yet. wink2.gif

The graphics are great, and the layout is very nice, Great Job! smile.gif

I actually like the header with the lighter purple/black color scheme. I think that's a clever header design. But, I've got the same overlapping content problem as a prior reviewer. I'm running FF2 with 1280x768 res. I took the liberty of validating your CSS and it didn't validate as valid 2.1, so I think that's where some people (like me) are having that overlap issue. In higher resolutions you'd have plenty of screen size to not notice the overlap, but it's a problem at more modest resolutions.
Be careful of the darker purple links on the black background as far as contrast goes. Other than that, I think it's a quite promising design.

Yeah, I can see it now, the entries column overlap the ':: Archives ::' column on resolutions under 1440*900.

Grrrrr @ position:absolute; Back to the drawing board for centering that center column. Thanks for noticing that

not repeating the overlap thing.

i like the banner colors, but the inner shadow effect on the letters doesn't work for me. minor, i know. outside of that, all of it looks kind of blurry. maybe you should sharpen the area around the text and slightly blur the background there?

is the text on the tabs anti-aliased? if it is, i didn't notice. maybe it's just me and my lack of glasses.

is there wood grain in the background? maybe you could go for a solid color instead?
