Might not be the right place for this... I have no idea...

But my new boss has finally set me up with a remote login. However, I cannot log in. I've had him reset my password 3 times and feel like I am making myself look like a moron by having issues with something as simple as a password change.

He sent me the login url.
I accepted the certificate.
I entered the username and password he had given me.
I entered and reentered a new password.
I got a message telling me to check password length and complexity rules and try again.
I verified my length and complexity were within allowable bounds and tried again.
I got the same message and was then redirected back to the main login.
I entered my username and new password and got a message to contact the admin to verify I had the correct permissions to access the remote login.
He swears everything is set up correctly on his end and that "user error" is the reason for my inability to login.

It's a password change. I can be dense, but give me some credit here... I'm not a complete moron, only partial.

My question... has anyone else ever encountered this or am I just doomed to be an idiot for all eternity?

And if you have encountered this problem, how did you correct it?

*EDIT* Ugh... 5th reset.... this time he made my username and password the same (my first name, all lowercase)... and it says I have an invalid username/password combination. What do you wager the odds are of my keeping my job if I am unable to login remotely without assistance? crying.gif

*EDIT EDIT* FINALLY! I had to get him on his cell phone and have him change my PW and try logging in on my account before he believed what I was telling him. His response? "Apparently it doesn't like you. I'll mess around with it and give you a call back if I get it to work." Sheesh!

*cough* isn't Windows great?

Is it possible that the remote restrictions are set higher than the local restrictions?

Does he maybe have the box checked (in active directory users/computers) to disallow login?

Also, do you need to add the domain to the username when you are trying to login remotely?
