I think one of the reasons your bounce rate is so high is that there are many links in your navigation that open the same site in a new window/tab. Is that supposed to happen?
like you mean when you click 'the magazine' some of the same content will show up as the content that is under the tabs for 'the magazine' like recent articles etc... ?
if so, i agree, it would be easier for maintenance and awesomeness if i just removed the links on the main navigation and made the user drill down to the next subject...
is that too much work for the user though is my question.
What I mean is if I mouseover the first item in your navigation, then select one of the sub items it opens it in a new tab in Firefox, in IE6 it opens it in a new window all together.
Im just running the latest version of Firefox and Windows Vista. I checked it on my son's PC and it's doing the same thing there as well. The weird thing is it's not the same links every time doing it, it's as if it's completely random.
I am irked by the menu not lining up with the gray lines behind it - it drops down just a bit. Also... the "Home" link stays highlighted no matter what page you are on. You can tell me to shut-up of you want, just tossing out my irkings.
However, I also have a thought on your bounce rate ... and again, it's your menu - it's a cool idea - the italicized text in the white space below the menu bar, but it's not immediately recognizable as additional menu options. Unless you are actually reading everything that shows up on mouse-over, it just looks like tag lines. And the "Shop" and "Relocation Guide" choices take you to the same page whether you choose the link from the main menu or the submenu - seems like superfluous links. I would bounce off this site because of the menu set-up. Love the idea, but the implementation is a little unclear.
psycho, i'll take another gander at the code for those tonight. thanks.
anixter , the event views module for drupal is a little strange, as far as I know there isn't a way around this. all those items are actually set to 'all day'.
i could code up a fix but its low on the list right now.
thanks guys for taking looks. if you keep going i will keep liking you
