I'm switching web hosts and I am looking for a good reliable web host to host my site. I was with 1and1, but they don't support php so i have decided to leave them. I am looking into bluehost or dreamhost but i can't decide which is better, so i was wondering what you guys think. What do you think is a really good web host that is reliable and supports the major programming languages (php, mysql, etc). money is no object as long as it is under $20/month

I would avoid United Hosting if their US service is anything like what I get in the UK. It's slow, and they charge extra for each additional domain you want to point to your account. I realise you're not currently looking at them, but don't! smile.gif

I liked Atomhost when I wasn't hosting things myself - their tech support is really good, and they're very nice to developers - if I ever needed a security feature tweaked, or a new Perl module installed(didn't do much non-stock PHP), it was a simple matter of sending them an e-mail, and then receiving an e-mail back that said "it's been done, go test it out".

They're also pretty flexible on billing options - I've paid them via credit card and Paypal - although you have to mention that you want Paypal when you sign up(or submit a support request).

I've been with MediaTemple for almost 2 years now, they are extremely reliable and their 24/7/365 customer support is unmatched. MT is a big name for developers, artists, and people with extreme demands.

The Grid-Service plan starts at $20 a month and it offers everything most people need.

Check it out at http://www.mediatemple.net

Otherwise I do have a referral link - http://www.mediatemple.net/go/order/?refdo...slangenfeld.com

check out HostGator.com link is here

They have a couple of really good plans and I pay 8.95/ month and they give me more than I'll ever use.

I've only had one outage in the year that I've been with them, and it was for two minutes while they swapped out one of their reseller servers so that they could offer the last plan they have listed under linux hosting.

The only catch is that there last two plans it looks like you can only pay up front, but they try to be very flexible, so if you called them you could probably get a monthly rate.

Anyways tell me what you think.
