Hey i was wondering if some of you have databases on a server which do you use? I need something small that will be accessed like maybe once a week by no more than 5 users. if it was free that would be awsome!
Thanks

If there is a low amount of access and you have high speed internet maybe hosting it on your own home system may be an option.

Many hosts out there are free and some of them have database support. But just remember they are free so a lot of people tend to use them and such but if you have limited needs, they might be an option.

Here is a site that lists quite a few...

Free web hosts with databases

Enjoy!

Martyr2 that is the site i found x10 on.
It seems that i'm getting in way over my head now. with PHP and all this.
If i host on my own computer it has to be on and connected at all times to be accessed correct? If so i would rather a guaranteed 99% up time. Instead of people relying on me. lol.

I have a possible need for a database host. The company I work for is going to be submitting a large bid and one of the requirements is to provide a database we host or that is approved. What should I be looking for if we outsource the hosting? Requirements include ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005, etc. Maybe only 15 users max will be connected at one time. I'm kinda lost on this since I've never had to do it before. I need to give a rough price estimate by sometime later today (before 6pm PST). Many thanks!

For .net applications and sqlserver2005 you are looking at dedicated hosting, with matching pricetag.
