I am trying to set up Apache and PHP on my computer. I installed both on my computer and the book I have now tells me to modify the httpd.conf file. I have to add LoadModule php5_module C:/php/php5apache2.dll and AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html and PHPIniDir "C:\php\" to the file. I can access the file and type in it but whenever I try to save the file I get the message "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\conf\httpd.conf file." I can't figure out why and my book doesn't address this problem. Any help would be appreciated! This is my first experience setting up anything like this so it could be something simple that I am simply overlooking......

Does the directory C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\conf\ exist?

Try to do a search for the file httpd.conf & see if it got setup somewhere else. Usually "Apache Group" would be the group with the permissions to start/stop/modify the Apache service, & not verbatim "Apache Group".

Yes it exists. That is the file path I took to get to httpd.conf so I know it exists. I also stopped Apache before I tried modifying the file.

Make sure you have write permissions on the file.
